What is holistic nutrition?

Holistic Nutrition takes a different approach to health and eating. Instead of focusing on calories and grams of fat (because counting calories just isn’t realistic for most people!), Holistic Nutrition takes a much more simple approach and focuses on eating the foods that are right for you.

By combining body functions and symptoms with good-for-you foods and healthy lifestyle practices, Holistic Nutrition addresses root causes and imbalances in the body (READ: the real reasons why you feel tired all the time, have no energy, can’t lose weight, have really intense cravings, feel bloated or sluggish after eating and on and on) to help you reach your health and wellness goals.

Everyone is different. There is no one size fits all answer.

Individualized wellness programs are created for each and every client and include the use of whole, nutrient-dense foods, menu plans, lifestyle modifications (and more!) that are specifically suited you and your life.

Holistic Nutrition is really about educating, creating awareness and supporting you every step of the way to reaching your goals.

How can I help you?

When you schedule an appointment with me, I will evaluate your nutritional needs by identifying symptoms that indicate health imbalances (ie. the real reasons why you’re not feeling great, have low energy, can’t lose weight or experiencing less than perfect digestion). I provide you with an individualized health plan, lifestyle recommendations and, if appropriate, natural health products and supplements in order to help the bring your health back into balance.

All the recommendations I make are totally tailored to you and your needs.

Individualized health plans include meal plans and recipes, support for making optimal food choices including decoding food labels, food shopping advice and information and cooking lessons. I will also assess overall lifestyle practices, including many factors such as stress management, exercise, sleep and relaxation strategies.

I encourage self-responsibility and will empower you to take control of your health through personalized education and nutrition information.

And best of all, you don’t have to do it alone! I am there to help you eat better and feel better every step of the way and will continually monitor your progress towards your individual health goals.

As a Registered Holistic Nutritionist I am also aware of the connection between the environment, toxins, food production and preparation and the resulting quality of food and therefore I always recommend whole foods, which support sustainable farming practices and a healthy environment. Along with this, I often recommend high-quality supplements and encourage the use of non-toxic, environmentally friendly household and personal products.
